Extensions configuration and requests on R6S Wikis[]
Hi; it's been 3 months since I asked Mr Pie 5 to get 3 extensions vetted and to configure 2 installed extensions (List - discussion here) but he has no answer from the dev team. Is there any problem with extensions dependencies ? Could the dev team configure extensions at first ? --CreativeC38 (talk) 19:35, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- I can assure you that he did request that all those extensions be vetted. The reason for the delay in getting a response is that your requests coincided with our upgrade of the installed version of MedaiWiki. The requests have not been forgotten and they are still in our queue to be vetted. Useful website resources[]
Not sure where this might fit on the help wiki, but I came over this website yesterday, which looks very useful for a wide range of stuff in the wiki editing process. - Found another site here that managed to convert XML files that I'm then able to import into Open Office (Or Excel, surely) and show the data in proper tables instead of a long list (not very useful). Will save me a ton of time when I'm trying to get an overview of lots of variables from hundreds of XML files. Doing that manually with the tool I first mentioned here (via tree view) was not fun. I searched high and low for such a feature, and this site appears to do the job.
- The first site is better if the XML file has the same structure for all items, but typically that is not the case as each item will only mention tags it uses/overrides from a parent file. Which means you need to look through the whole file and slowly increase your list of possible infobox variables. The second tool will list everything in a table (at least on the XML files I tested with), with empty values where appropriate.
- It is perhaps a bit on the side of what is usually covered in here, but I do think it could be pretty useful, especially for wikis needing overhauls, or for wikis starting out with newly released games (depending on how accessible the game data is of course). - Another one I happened to come across that I've found useful: https://www.tablesgenerator.com/mediawiki_tables. Unfortunately it doesn't look like it's possible to import wikitable code and work with it there, but it can be useful for creating tables from scratch, or if any of the other import formats can be used. I always find it hard to work with wikitables in code only, at least if they are more complex so you can't use the double-pipes. Pangaearocks (talk) 11:18, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
