Dirty Bomb wiki

Hi OOEyes,

I saw you edited the BadgeTable on the Dirty Bomb wiki. I took the liberty to change it a bit setting the icon size to 48px as i found they were too small. But it is not working. Only the Data:Badge Data:Badge] is ok. Why ? Can you please delete the Badges page I made ?

The Ninth seems to be off for now so I can't make the modifications.
Can you please rename 'https://dirtybomb.gamepedia.com/GUIDES' to 'New Player's Guide'
Can you please add to the topsection the following links ?

  • Maps
  • New Player's Guide
  • Game Modes
  • Missions

--Pogs (talk) 09:08, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you mean by not working. It looks correct to me. It might just have been a temporary caching issue. Sometimes after saving a template, you may need to resave the page it's being used on as well or wait a short while for it to update.
I've taken care of the other requests. OOeyes (talk) 05:21, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
Thank you :) --Pogs (talk) 10:04, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi OOyeyes,

I have another request. TheNinth seems to be inactive at least for now, and he does not answer my messages on Skype or Steam. So he can'"t help me :(
I made a new design for the wiki and would like to test it but unfortunately I can't as i don't have the admin rights to modify those files (main page and style pictures). Here is a preview of the style I would like to implement : http://i.imgur.com/XLmxRLV.jpg The needed files are there :

Apart from these pictures, the style must be reworked : text colour, table bg colour, page headers, etc... but I can't and don't know how.

Could you please help me testing this ? Thanks beforehand :) --Pogs (talk) 08:41, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

With Dirty Bomb being an official wiki, it's best we run this by Nexon first before this goes any further. We're waiting on a response from them right now. Until we hear back, we can't say either way whether we can permit something as significant as redesigning the skin. OOeyes (talk) 19:28, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Ok no problem. I have a question on that matter. I posted the link to the wiki on Warchest forums :http://forums.warchest.com/showthread.php/34389-Dirty-Bomb-Fan-Sites-Groups-Twitters-etc?p=528110&viewfull=1#post528110. Some guys there accused me of lying because they said they asked devs and that it is not official. Can you clarify this please ? --Pogs (talk) 01:02, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
I apologize for the lateness of this reply. Unfortunately, I ended up pretty ill over the last several days, and I'm only now starting to catch up with things. I can't speak for what anyone else has heard, but I've double checked with our community manager, and the word we're getting from Nexon is that they do consider the Gamepedia wiki the official one. They've also given the thumbs-up to two different designs that have a logo identifying the wiki as official. So I'll go with that over random person on the internet. OOeyes (talk) 19:02, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
Sorry that you were sick, I hope you'll recover fully soon ;) Well I don't understand as MissMurder the CM at Nexon told me this morning it was not official. Who's your source at Nexon ? Anyway if you have time for it, can you check what i've done for the wiki style : https://dirtybomb.gamepedia.com/User_talk:Pogs#Redesign. You can test it thoroughly if you copy my hydra.css file into yours ;) --Pogs (talk) 08:04, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

Russian Hearthstone Wiki

Hi OOEyes,

I'm amazed by the number of articles in Hearthstone wiki, most of them are useful. However, there is no russian translation and I was confused when noticed it. Although we have russian wikia, it only contains 140 articles, comparing to 1800 in yours. The question is how should I start translating wiki on gamepedia to russian? As I have read, I have to start from main page? Thanks in advance. Isceruth (talk) 15:01, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

You wouldn't necessarily have to start with the main page, but in deciding whether or not to open a translated wiki for a game, we do focus on the main page and the pages it links to to ensure that there has been a good start.
Hearthstone Wiki is a little trickier because we do automated imports of card data to the wiki. I'm afraid, however, we would probably not be able to offer that to a second Hearthstone Wiki, so card data would have to manually entered or transferred from the English wiki. OOeyes (talk) 16:00, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for response. Ok, so there are no barriers to start translating it.
As for card data, what's the problem with it? Are u using some special API to transfer it automatically? However, it's not the main problem in translating in it, as we always can transfer it manually. Luckily, there are not so many cards in HS as in MTG :D Isceruth (talk) 17:46, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

Guardian Promotion Request: Dirty Bomb Wiki

Dear OOEyes,

I have recently been made Guardian of the Dirty Bomb wiki. I have however noticed in my role, that a user called Lolnubcake has been making very helpful edits to the Dirty Bomb Wiki.

Would it be possible that this user is also promoted to the role of Guardian? He has not made one unhelpful edit, and his writing quality is very informative and helpful.

I believe he would be a real asset to this Wiki as Guardian.

Best Wishes and a Happy new Year, Penguinexpert1 Penguinexpert1 (talk) 12:26, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

It's possible. I could promote him to administrator, which is basically the same, but with the wiki only having a small community, that's more or less having all the regular editors serving in an administrative role on a wiki that doesn't get many casual edits. In my opinion, it's very early to be promoting another user, and I don't believe the lack of administrative rights will hinder him in any meaningful way. At least when it comes to editing, there isn't much an administrator or guardian can do that a regular editor cannot.
This isn't a reflection on his merit for promotion. If that were the only issue, I'd promote him if he asked. But it isn't customary to just promote every good editor on a wiki, and in this case, I'd need to be persuaded that the wiki needs another admin or that missing administrative rights is hindering his efforts before I'd support it. OOeyes (talk) 14:07, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

Dear OOEyes, Thanks very much for this clarification.

Many Thanks, Penguin Penguinexpert1 (talk) 17:52, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

Left Sidebar: Dirty Bomb Wiki

Dear OOEyes,

It has been requested on the Dirty Bomb wiki that the Maps page be added to the left sidebar for easy reference. Would this be possible please? Thanks, Penguin

Since you're a wiki guardian, can't you modify MediaWiki:Sidebar? (on the dirty bomb wiki) -Xbony2, TriMaster (talk) 22:12, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
Yes, that would be how to do it. Add a new line, probably under NAVIGATION, with **Maps. OOeyes (talk) 03:05, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
Nice, didn't know I could do that! :D Penguinexpert1 (talk) 20:17, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Chronicles:Runescape

Hi, sorry to bother you over this, but I have a question. I am trying to edit the following page https://chronicle.gamepedia.com/Ozan so that the image does not push down the table. I cannot seem to manage this no matter where I place the image in the source code. The preview always looks good, but after I save the changes, the image is always relocated to a specific spot that pushes the card table down. I managed to somehow get it to work for Linza, but Ozan is just failing frustratingly hard. I think it may have to do with the size. Thank you very much for any assistance. 46.5.0.231 02:01, 16 April 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, that's the ad space. I wrapped it in <div style="float: right;">^lt;/div> to let it float next to the ad. (Unfortunately, the right in the MediaWiki image syntax also has clear: right, which forces it below the ad.) OOeyes (talk) 08:48, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
Ah, makes sense. I guess my adblock wasn't showing me an ad there. That was killing me so bad last night haha. Thanks for the prompt response. Btw, do you know a way to make the text block hanging, so that it has the same boundary on the right? If you look at the Ozan page, the last paragraph stretches beneath the image now. I'll go look at your other response to me on the Wiki. Thanks 46.5.0.231 14:20, 16 April 2016 (UTC)

Hey OOEyes. I made an edit to the Black Knight Titan's page, namely a history subsection for some historical context for those interested in it, also a list of reworks would be helpful to compile. Will this be automatically removed due to some preformatting built into the site that limits the pages to "Obtaining, Strategy, Quotes" subsections? Also, I'd like to petition renaming "Quote" to "Lore" as quotes aren't really relevant in Chronicle as far as I have seen. Thanks! 46.5.19.98 11:42, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

Editable tooltips

Can you help me please to make the Editable tooltips work in the German Witcher wiki? Hover effect works for me here in the help wiki but not in "my" wiki (my browser has Javascript enabled).
My common.js: https://hexer.gamepedia.com/Benutzerin:DiamondDove/common.js
Templates: Vorlage:Tooltip_hover_box_loading, Vorlage:Tooltip_hover_box
Tooltip article: Hilbert/Tooltip

Thx in advance :) DiamondDove (talk) 20:32, 11 March 2017 (UTC)

Looks like the script needed an update to deal with https. I edited your common.js to apply it. I think it should be working now. OOeyes (talk) 04:56, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
Cool, it works. Thanks a lot :) DiamondDove (talk) 10:56, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

Fire Emblem Main Page

I joined the new FE wiki and decided to help start it up from ground zero. I have done a lot of work in the Overwatch wiki so I thought I could be of use. However when I went to update the main page images for the Awakening title, it said you had protected the page from editing, which makes sense. Can you add the box covers for each game? I couldn't become a Wiki Guardian because the wiki is too new, so I cant do it myself. Thanks. -Gills97 (talk) 08:20, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

The Fire Emblem Wiki is a special case. That was set up primarily for Teg, who is bureaucrat and administrator there. Since he has chosen to redesign the main page, I suggest asking him first. OOeyes (talk) 00:14, 18 May 2017 (UTC)

Becoming an Admin on FE Warriors Gamepedia

Hello, user OOeyes. May I inquire you about something quickly? I'd just like to become an admin of FE Warriors Wiki (found here), as it seems to be poorly maintained at the moment and looks as if it could use some help. I promise to be an active participant on the Gamepedia if hired for the job, and truly wish to create a resource all players can refer to if necessary. Thank you.

--StreakofEmerald (talk) 20:12, 2 October 2017 (UTC)StreakofEmerald

StreakofEmerald: it looks like there are four active (or at least semi-active) admins at the moment. I would encourage you to talk to them about how you can help and whatnot and do some more editing. "Teg" on that wiki can appoint you as an administrator if appropriate. -Xbony2, WikiNerd (talk) 21:34, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
OOeyes: I'll do that, OOeyes. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

--StreakofEmerald (talk) 00:06, 3 October 2017 (UTC)StreakofEmerald

Yes, this is best. I wouldn't be making a promotion myself without first asking Teg, so it'd be easier for you to just contact him directly, or just jump in as most edits don't require administrator status. OOeyes (talk) 04:48, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
OOeyes: Teg has not yet responded to me as of posting this message. What should my next course of action be? Note that a main reason as to why I want to become an admin is to edit main pages so that they're up to snuff. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by StreakofEmerald (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
@StreakofEmerald: I think I got FE Warriors and FE Heroes mixed up. Yeah, you should be promoted. BTW, you can edit the content part of the main page here. -Xbony2, WikiNerd (talk) 12:32, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
Xbony2: Alright. Thank you for the directioning. --StreakofEmerald (talk) 18:28, 7 October 2017 (UTC)StreakofEmerald
Xbony2: Teg is the correct person to contact first for the feheroes, fewarriors, and fireemblem wikis, as he requested the latter two. But I haven't been able to reach him either, so...
StreakofEmerald: I've gone ahead with a promotion to administrator for the time being. We'll see if he has any objections later, but for now, congratulations. OOeyes (talk) 07:05, 8 October 2017 (UTC)

Art of Conquest Wiki

Hello OOeyes,

I'm looking to change the homepage of the Art of Conquest Wiki: https://artofconquest.gamepedia.com/Art_of_Conquest_Wiki

I've been adding new pages and cleaning up some of the formatting recently.

Can I get permissions or do I have to ask you to make the changes?

Thanks in advance.

Wehht (talk) 14:24, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

I see you've been busy over there. You could use the claim button if you'd like, and once I approve it, you'll be able to edit the main page. OOeyes (talk) 00:05, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

Your Edits to Pokémon Wiki's Templates

Hi Eyes,

A lot, if not most, of the edits you made back earlier this year have broken most of our templates on the Pokémon Wiki. I went on hiatus for a bit, but I have been adding new Pokémon for the last couple years, adding anime episode pages, creating and editing templates, etc. and just came back to see almost all templates broken. I then started looking into it and it seems you added

<noinclude>[[pt-br:Predefinição:Type color normal]]</noinclude>

to almost all of them, and some you added an extra bracket or something. These changes have had a cascading affect. My guess is one template you modified is used in most/all of the other templates and it was broken and thus cascaded down to all the other templates. I can help investigate, but some of the pages are admin-locked and I cannot edit those. If you need help, let me know, I know the wiki pretty well, having edited many of the templates, homepage, and added many pages over the years.

Thanks! --Rahfal (talk) 01:52, 28 December 2017 (UTC)

As I later thought, seemed like it was one template affecting most of them. Thank you for finding which one it was and resolving the issue! Happy New Years! :) --Rahfal (talk) 18:36, 29 December 2017 (UTC)

Help with Image redirects on sub language, in Grimmwood

Hi Eyes,

I created few redirects for items images where, image name exactly matches the item name for easier templates. This works great on the English version, but when I try to replicate it in another language, the redirects do not work for some reason. They just don't redner when used in a page. I suspect there are multiple background redirects happening ... but can not find the right way to fix it nor any info to read about this.

The redirect appear in bot correct and in Broken redirects lists ..

https://grimmwood-bg.gamepedia.com/Special:BrokenRedirects

Can you point me in the right direction ? Dimitr raev (talk) 20:44, 28 May 2018 (UTC)

It's probably because the BG wiki doesn't have its own file page to redirect to. It's using the English wiki as a shared image repository, but that only pulls the actual image. It doesn't actually make a matching page on the other wiki, and redirects are mostly used with pages. You can create the file pages without having to upload the image, and that should fix the redirects, I believe. OOeyes (talk) 10:57, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

Thank you. I tried to create the local file page, it is already exists, and give me the options to "view shared storage", "edit local description".

Adding local description, removed the redirect from "broken redirects page" but it still show that file does not exists and it renders just like when used.

May be it will be easier just to duplicate the images for the BG wiki ? Dimitr raev (talk) 05:16, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

It looks like it may be. It looks like redirects just don't work in this case. I thought I might have a workaround, but it didn't work. OOeyes (talk) 22:24, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Experienced User vandalism on Prismata Wiki

Hi Eyes,

As you can check, user https://prismata.gamepedia.com/UserProfile:McFly has deleted correct openings without explanation or corrections.

https://prismata.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Zemora_Voidbringer&diff=12386 removed advice.

https://prismata.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Plexo_Cell&diff=12382 removed alternative use. Also, that Gold cost is 3+2 (-1).

https://prismata.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Scorchilla&diff=12381 removed openings.

https://prismata.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Centurion&diff=prev&oldid=12379. This is convenient for new players, maybe written differently.

https://prismata.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Lucina_Spinos&type=revision&diff=12380&oldid=12361 Previous version is more concise. P1 opening is new though.

https://prismata.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Feral_Warden&diff=prev&oldid=12365 removed short summary. (3rd paragraph).

https://prismata.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Amporilla&diff=prev&oldid=12225 removed extra move, but also section after.

Judging by your IP address, you're the editor who was reported to me by members of the Prismata development team for adding inaccurate information. (If you aren't, then I apologize.) You also apparently ignored an attempt to reach out to you here: https://prismata.gamepedia.com/User_talk:181.73.201.22
It's simple wiki etiquette for disagreements between editors to be discussed rather than continuing with "edit wars." Yujiri attempted to do this, and I don't see any response from you, and this is why you received a temporary block. I also see no effort on your part to start a discussion with McFly, while there has been an attempt to contact you. The ball is now in your court to convince them that the edits are legitimate, and as long as you do not come to an agreement with the other editors, you will continue to be blocked if you persist in edit warring. OOeyes (talk) 05:06, 9 August 2018 (UTC)

Sorry for that fault, the https://prismata.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Hellhound&type=revision&diff=12226&oldid=12202 is the ban offense.

There's discrimination toward edits by me, as on edit history.

I report these instances not about etiquette issues.

Lack of user talk participation is regretted, though not as leverage against me.

181.73.201.22 07:00, 9 August 2018 (UTC)User SSP181.73.201.22 07:00, 9 August 2018 (UTC)

The way an edit war usually goes is this:
  1. An editor makes an edit another disagrees with
  2. The other editor undoes that edit (yes, ideally leaving an explanation in the edit summary)
  3. The original editor undoes that edit without discussion
  4. etc.
It's not typically considered an edit war until at least step 3. Even then, I usually give out a warning first, but you had already been asked to stop.
And in this case, the developer themselves have characterized your edits as vandalism in a request to us to intervene. That puts the burden of proof that your information is legitimate squarely on you. OOeyes (talk) 08:02, 9 August 2018 (UTC)

Then the war was against me, since though I log my edits, these get deleted without discussion/summary, as well as the content lost. There was a scandal that the developer answered, yes. My posts get downvoted a lot though correct, got permabanned on Discord for claimed (not) lesser offense, etc.

Requesting Extension for TBIO Revelations Wiki

Hello OOEyes! I'm the wiki administrator for The Binding of Isaac: Revelations Wiki. The second main chapter, or update, for the mod is coming out within the next month, so I've been looking for a way to create pages privately so that when the update hits, I have a large amount of information on the wiki already. I've searched into all of the plugins dedicated to this feature, and I've found this one to be the most stable: http://wiki.4intra.net/IntraACL The only issue with this extension is that it isn't directly updated to my wiki's MediaWiki version (1.29.2, extension only has patch for up to 1.28.3), which I'm not sure will be a problem or not. If this extension isn't allowed, I'd like to know if you know of another extension or another way I could test pages privately on my wiki or off-site so that I could preview them and polish them for launch. Thank you! Grynn54 (talk) 11:42, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

If possible, I would suggest just making the off-site wiki private. If not, you can try the extension. Being just one version behind, it may well still work without an issue. Otherwise, I'm not too familiar with extensions of that sort since Gamepedia doesn't support private content like that. OOeyes (talk) 00:11, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
I don't have an off-site wiki, I was just giving other possible examples that could be an alternative that you could've maybe had info on if the extension wasn't possible. I'd say just trying the extension would be the simplest way to do it. Grynn54 (talk) 01:54, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
I'm afraid it isn't on Gamepedia. When I said we don't support it, I mean it's currently our policy not to support non-public content. MediaWiki was and is made without private content in mind, which makes it impractical for us to vet these extensions and make sure they've covered the many ways users can potentially get content. For that reason, we don't want to be responsible for hosting and securing unreleased content on our wikis. The fully private wiki is basically the alternative, but we don't spin up separate wikis for that. I apologize for the inconvenience, and I do understand. It's an inconvenience for wiki managers as well to have to keep this content off-site, but it's one we're stuck with for the foreseeable future. OOeyes (talk) 17:14, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
That's okay! I have a plan B but I just wanted to ask and make sure. Thanks! Grynn54 (talk) 19:26, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

ParserPower proposed change

Hey Eyes,

I sent an email last night about how to get ParserPower listfilter to work with RegexFunction extension. This morning I instead just built the functionality into ParserPower and submitted a pull request. Let me know if this is something you'd consider and if so, if I can get it up on Fractured Wiki. Thanks!

You didn't get my reply? ...then again, it looks like maybe it didn't actually go out. -_-
There's just one change you need to make:
{{#listfilter:
  |list=...
  |insep=~~
  |outsep=<br>
  |token=@@@@
  |pattern=<esc>{{#ifeq:@@@@|Main page|remove|keep}}</esc>
}}
That will delay processing long enough for ParserPower to process it, and ParserPower can automatically unescape what the esc tag does. (The same thing can be done for functions outside ParserPower, but they need to be wrapped in {{#uesc:}} to undo the escaping at the end.) OOeyes (talk) 01:12, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the response. I can get #ifeq to work, but #rmatch from RegexFunctions just returns an empty string from includes/ParserPowerLists.php line 871. The token does get replaced; not sure why it doesn't work. The change I made to ParserPower in that pull request works like a charm though. Kellewic (talk) 02:52, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
I would file a ticket with dev to install a new version of ParserPower. The timing is awkward as we're working on preparations for a 1.31 upgrade sometime in the near future, so it might have to wait until I do 1.31 compatibility checks and updates too. I don't really have an ETA to give you at this time. OOeyes (talk) 15:01, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
OK, let me see if I can find another way. Thanks. It should work since my private wiki runs 1.31.1 Kellewic (talk) 16:02, 14 October 2018 (UTC)

Extension requests for Ending Days Wiki

I would like to request for the following extensions to be added to Ending Days wiki:

Thank you.

I have these queued up for installation. They will probably go live sometime later today. You can check the list at https://endingdays.gamepedia.com/Special:Version to see when they are available to use. OOeyes (talk) 17:13, 26 May 2019 (UTC)

French Cultist Simulator Wiki

Hello OOeyes,

I send you a request for the creation of a french version of Cultist Simulator wiki. Many pages have on the english wiki have been translated into French, the main pages and all its link have been translated (all translated pages are here)

So all is ready for a new wiki and I'm ready to be admin of this new wiki if needed.

Thanks in advance.

It's a holiday weekend, so I'll put in a request to get the ball rolling on this on Tuesday, and I expect I'll be able to have it ready to go a day or two after. OOeyes (talk) 17:14, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for response Gould58 (talk) 07:44, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
https://cultistsimulator-fr.gamepedia.com/Cultist_Simulator_Wiki should be all ready to go. Feel free to put in a claim when you're ready, though you might need to put in some edits there first. OOeyes (talk) 05:33, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

Conan Chop Chop Wiki

Hey there OOeyes,

The community portal on the Conan Chop Chop Wiki still says there is no wiki manager. Does this mean you aren't assigned as wiki manager there? TheLOLxd2 (talk) 11:17, 13 June 2019 (UTC)

No, it simply means I haven't finished setting up the wiki. OOeyes (talk) 12:54, 13 June 2019 (UTC)
Should I start editing? You look to be done, seeing the Community portal. TheLOLxd2 (talk) 18:09, 13 June 2019 (UTC)
Edit: I've started editing since you're adding content pages. I do find it odd when the top of the page is black, could be eg. light blue, but okay. TheLOLxd2 (talk) 21:08, 13 June 2019 (UTC)

Added 2 entries on https://conanchopchop.gamepedia.com/Conan_Chop_Chop_Wiki:Admin_noticeboard TheLOLxd2 (talk) 12:59, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

Yes, I'm done with all the setup, and responded on the admin noticeboard. I apologize if my responses are slow, but medical issues are making my schedule somewhat unpredictable of late. As for the black, it's matching the color scheme Funcom is using on their official site. I agree some of their stylistic choices are a little unusual, but I think it looks alright. OOeyes (talk) 17:35, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

Release date

The release date listed on the main page should be "September 3, 2019" instead of "2019 September 3" (use Ctrl+F). TheLOLxd2 (talk) 11:53, 2 August 2019 (UTC)

Switched. OOeyes (talk) 11:59, 2 August 2019 (UTC)

toclimit

Would you mind enabling/adding the part which makes toclimit work on the Conan Chop Chop Wiki? This is used for https://conanchopchop.gamepedia.com/Conan_Chop_Chop, similair to https://conanexiles.gamepedia.com/Conan_Exiles. TheLOLxd2 (talk) 18:52, 6 August 2019 (UTC)

It is done. OOeyes (talk) 05:12, 7 August 2019 (UTC)

I've added the section to the main page as requested. I have the Tabber extension queued for installation on the wiki. It will probably be available no later than Wednesday morning. OOeyes (talk) 02:10, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
